Larry was born in Miami, FL in 1954 is married to Carrie and along with their 2 sons call Stuart, FL home. Whether painting from reference photographs or on site "plein air", Larry's main goal is to capture a feeling in the picture. "It may only be a temperature or a breeze but I want you to feel like you can step into my work. If the light is right, the feeling follows." Scenes of old buildings, boats and places around Florida bring back memories of a simpler time. Larry, as a life long Florida native enjoyed growing up with experiences that included many water related activities. His memories are of fishing from the bridges of Rickenbacker Causeway and later, by boat in Biscayne Bay, around Elliott Key, the upper Keys and Flamingo in the Everglades National Park. Additionally he enjoyed going to the beach at Cape Florida Lighthouse, watching the boat races at Miami Marine Stadium, sailing and scuba diving. These created some of his fondest rememberances of the 60's and 70's. An occasional fishing and clamming trip to Jensen Beach and Sebastion in the 1960's with his grandparents was always a special treat.
